The United States Justice Foundation conducted research into National Public Radio’s news coverage in 2024, and compiled a report that showed how the staff of NPR is composed of Democratic donors and volunteers. NPR operates under the FEC press exemption but is controlled by Democratic party operatives. USJF has filed a complaint with the FEC, alleging that NPR’s news coverage does not meet the FEC’s requirements for a press exemption, and therefore its coverage of politics should be considered in-kind contributions to the Democratic party.
